[U.S. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority: Decline in Cryptocurrency Investment Intentions, Increased Risk Awareness] Research by the U.S. Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) shows that between 2021 and 2024, the proportion of investors holding cryptocurrencies remained unchanged at 27%, but those planning to increase holdings or make their first purchase dropped from 33% to 26%. The proportion of high-risk investors decreased from 12% in 2021 to 8%, with the largest decline among investors under 35, dropping from 24% to 15%. The survey revealed that 66% of respondents consider cryptocurrencies to be high-risk investments (compared to 58% in 2021), and among respondents under 35, 50% believe taking high risks is necessary to achieve financial goals. Over the past two years, new market entrants accounted for only 8%, significantly lower than 21% in 2021. FINRA believes that interest rates, inflation, and economic uncertainty have driven investors to favor safer assets, with overall investment attitudes becoming more cautious.
