[Decentralized Exchange Ostium Completes $20 Million Series A Financing, Led by Jump Trading and Others] According to *Fortune* magazine, the decentralized exchange Ostium, founded by Harvard graduates, has completed a $20 million Series A financing round, with a post-money valuation of approximately $250 million. The round was led by General Catalyst and Jump Trading, with participation from Coinbase Ventures, Wintermute, and GSR. Ostium had previously raised a total of approximately $8 million in funding. The platform focuses on perpetual contract trading for real-world assets such as commodities and stocks, aiming to provide transparent and efficient U.S. market exposure to overseas investors outside the United States. The co-founder and CEO stated that their goal is not to directly compete with crypto-native perpetual contract protocols like Hyperliquid, but rather to challenge traditional online brokers such as Robinhood and eToro. Ostium's team currently consists of 15 employees, and the funds from this round will be used to expand into the non-crypto user market. The product logic targets pain points faced by overseas investors when accessing the U.S. market through traditional brokers, such as system opacity and outdated technology.
