[Vanguard to Open Trading for Funds Related to Bitcoin, Solana, XRP, and Other Crypto Assets] Odaily Planet Daily News: Starting this week, Vanguard will allow clients to trade ETFs and mutual funds primarily holding cryptocurrencies on its platform, including assets such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and XRP. This move marks a significant shift from its previous long-standing stance of refusing to engage with crypto products. Reports indicate that the company adjusted its strategy under pressure from retail and institutional clients, and trading for related crypto asset funds will be open to its users starting Tuesday. Vanguard had previously publicly stated that it would not offer any crypto-related ETFs, including Bitcoin spot ETFs launched by BlackRock and Fidelity. Bloomberg reported that Vanguard has been reevaluating its related policies since September of last year. Andrew Kadjeski, the company's head of brokerage and investment, stated that crypto ETFs have performed as expected amid market volatility, fund management processes are gradually maturing, and investor preferences are evolving. It is reported that Vanguard currently serves over 50 million brokerage accounts and manages more than $11 trillion in client assets. With the U.S. successively approving Bitcoin and Ethereum spot ETFs, more funds tracking assets such as XRP, Solana, Dogecoin, and Litecoin are also being launched. Bloomberg analyst Eric Balchunas predicts that over 100 new crypto ETFs could be listed in the next six months. (The Block)
