[Cayman Islands Court Prohibits Maple from Launching syrupBTC Due to Alleged Contract Breach] On November 25, the Cayman Islands court issued an injunction prohibiting Maple Finance from launching the yield-generating Bitcoin product syrupBTC. Core Foundation accused Maple of using information obtained during the joint development of IstBTC to create a competing product, syrupBTC, thereby violating an exclusivity agreement. Maple, which manages assets exceeding $3 billion, denied the allegations, claiming syrupBTC was independently developed and plans to return 85% of principal to BTC Yield lenders, with the remaining 15% to be released after the legal proceedings conclude. Block Street CEO Hedy Wang and Axelar legal advisor Jason Rozovsky emphasized that DeFi products must comply with real-world contracts and laws, and assets should be stored in bankruptcy-remote structures to protect user interests.
