This does feel a bit like an accelerated version of Linea's trend. OG followers probably remember me talking about LINEA before. The core logic is that its market cap is neither too high nor too low, but way below the original market expectations. So, once there's a big player stepping in or an oversold situation, it’s easy for it to bounce back.
MON's opening wave of panic selling + a breakdown-style shakeout to force people to hand over their chips + the pullback rhythm is very reminiscent of that old friend starting with L.
Most of the new launch chips I observed were sold off at the opening, even at a loss, which is the main reason I waited a bit longer. Of course, my expectations were to take profit around this level… because Linea only had a rebound from 21 to 35.
From a secondary market game theory perspective, @monad was generous with airdrops to the yapper crowd in the market, sacrificing the interests of the testnet farming crew. But in return, it gained more attention than Linea. In this phase of altcoin hellish difficulty, sacrifices have to be made for secondary market performance. I’ll keep observing if there are future ecosystem opportunities. Last night’s wave of sentiment—let’s keep betting small to win big for now.
