In order to serve up inscription content super fast on an explorer frontend, most sites (like Uniscan below) don't actually directly query the chain, rather cache in a more performant database. Given that there are over 100 million inscriptions of which I'd bet 90 million are never viewed any more it's not a surprise to me that explorers just point users to go look it up on http://ordinals.com to save system resources.(cbspears ◉)
