Yesterday, in Buffett's farewell letter, he mentioned something interesting. He said that Munger, the Coca-Cola boss, several Berkshire directors, current CEO Greg, and executive Ajit either grew up in Omaha or have lived there. He wondered, 'Is there some magical ingredient in Omaha's water?' In my opinion, this is similar to how Liu Bang managed to govern the entire country with talent from just Pei County back in the day. The rarest thing is the founding leader—Buffett himself—and those moments when 'the universe aligns.' Once Buffett's rise was destined, even a small town like Omaha could provide him with half of his core team. Many jobs are highly replaceable. As long as talent crosses the 80% excellence threshold, they can achieve greatness on the right platform. That's why 'organizational cultivation' is so important. What great talent lacks is a great mentor. Talent is indeed scarce, but platforms and opportunities are even scarcer. An extraordinary founder like Buffett, catching his own wave, is truly one in a million.
