[OpenAI CEO: Does not want its data centers to receive 'government guarantees,' expects annualized revenue to exceed $20 billion by the end of this year]
OpenAI founder Sam Altman stated on Thursday that he does not want its data centers to receive 'government guarantees' and expects annualized revenue to exceed $20 billion by the end of this year, growing to several hundred billion dollars by 2030. He added that the company is considering a commitment to approximately $1.4 trillion in AI infrastructure investment over the next eight years. These remarks come at a time when investors are concerned about an AI bubble and questioning the returns on hundreds of billions of dollars in artificial intelligence expansion investments. He mentioned that if large-scale AI facilities fail to deliver the expected results, the federal government will not intervene. He said: 'If we mess up and can't fix it, we will fail, and other companies will continue to do good work and serve customers. The ecosystem and economy will be fine. Given that we are in a favorable position, we feel good. But we could certainly be wrong, and if we are wrong, the market—not the government—will handle it.'
