[SoftBank Seeks to Issue Approximately $2 Billion in Bonds to Bet on AI Development] SoftBank Group is returning to the overseas bond market for the second time this year, actively raising funds for artificial intelligence. According to sources familiar with the matter, the Japanese tech investment giant is looking to raise approximately $1.5 billion to $2 billion in the U.S. dollar bond market and around €500 million through euro-denominated bonds. A SoftBank spokesperson stated that the size of the bond transaction has not yet been finalized. With a focus on new AI investments, SoftBank's billionaire founder Masayoshi Son has pledged up to $500 billion for a project called 'Star Gate' and announced earlier this year plans to invest $30 billion in OpenAI. So far, SoftBank has raised at least $24 billion through loans and bonds for 2025, making it one of the largest fundraising efforts in the company's history.
