‘Let people speak, the sky won’t fall.’ The discussions on X about the ‘No kings’ protests have been pretty heated these past couple of days, with both sides going head-to-head. Personally, I don’t think it’s a big deal. Having different voices is a good thing. What a country and society should fear isn’t having diverse opinions, but having only one voice. Today, I came across a post about the J6ers, and it left me feeling pretty uncomfortable. Out of those 1,400+ people, the vast majority were innocent individuals who got caught up in it without knowing better. Over 600 of them were imprisoned. Even though the last batch of those imprisoned has been pardoned and released, more than 25 of them committed suicide, and many are struggling to get by after being released. And yet, whether it’s conservative organizations or Trump himself, the care and support for them have been lacking. Especially after the Trump family made a fortune in the crypto space, their inaction is honestly disappointing. No matter how much people criticize the Democrats and the left, when you roll with them, they actually help you out. Protests, movements—they fund them. If something happens, they’ll find you a lawyer. For illegal immigrants, NGOs escort them all the way from South America, get them into the U.S., provide housing, let them stay in four- or five-star hotels for free, give out food stamps, even hand out cash. They’ll figure out how to get you a driver’s license, a job, legal status… they’ve basically created benefits better than what citizens get. How could they not be popular? Of course, in a country governed by the rule of law, there should be order. You can’t mess things up for the sake of political parties or personal interests. But for those who are truly in need, shouldn’t we find a way to help them? Don’t let people bleed, cry, and suffer, only to keep suffering and lose hope.
