1. This world is so small, especially at large events like Token2049.
Yesterday, while I was chatting with some project friends at the Fullerton, there was a 'random stranger' who kept inching closer to me. Later, I found out they were from a certain exchange. This world really is small.
2. Protecting privacy is super important. Even though I don’t endorse this kind of 'friendship,' exposing someone’s privacy—especially chat content—feels a bit wrong to me. This time, it might seem like the right thing to do, but if the conversation had been about something else, it could’ve been bad. If you can, opt for business class, or avoid writing overly private stuff on the plane.
3. This is a very serious privacy violation. Publicly sharing someone’s private communications without consent is a criminal offense in both the U.S. and Singapore. If I were the person involved, I’d file a lawsuit. This kind of case is a guaranteed win, especially since the person who secretly recorded it has done KYC (Twitter Blue Verified). If you sue, Twitter will provide the necessary information.
Be cautious when eating melons (gossiping). Don’t get yourself caught in the mess.
