To err is human, nobody's perfect. Yesterday's XPL trade was supposed to be a solid win, but due to some sloppy execution, the early profits got wiped out, and I even ended up with a small loss! The first wave was a clear win though—just look at the trade history, nailed the bottom and locked in some gains! Originally, I thought it would hit the upper boundary and then pull back for a correction. To play it safe, I took profit first, planning to jump back in after a breakout.
But guess what? The price action was ridiculously strong! Just as I took profit, it shot straight to a new high! I couldn’t hold back—jumped right back in the moment it broke out… and bam, got slapped with a big pullback. Gave back all the profits and got completely shaken out!
Although it did eventually break out for real, I didn’t re-enter. Looking back at the trade, it’s clear my execution was off—my rhythm was messy, and I was too impatient. I knew the second breakout had a high probability, but I forced myself to stop because I realized that pushing it at that point would only lead to bigger losses.
So, if you ever feel like your execution is off, don’t force it! Take a break immediately, step back, and reset. The market will always be there, but if your mindset collapses, you’ll end up paying tuition fees. Once you’ve adjusted, get back in the game—it’ll definitely be twice as effective!
