Odaily Planet Daily reports, according to official sources, the current computing power resources of the Gonka network are equivalent to the power of 500 H100 GPUs. Unlike traditional centralized private clouds, this computing power is contributed in a distributed manner by global participants, forming an open and shared computing network that avoids monopolization and control by a single institution. This provides new possibilities for the popularization and innovation of high-performance computing.
As previously reported, the Gonka mainnet has officially launched, and AI inference services are currently completely free. Computing power contributors can receive daily GNK token rewards based on their share of computing power. Each period sees the minting of 323,000 GNK tokens, which decreases over time, forming a scarcity curve to ensure the predictability of incentives.
It is reported that Gonka was incubated by U.S.-based AI developer Product Science Inc. The company was founded by Web 2 industry veterans, former Snap Inc. core product directors, the Libermans siblings, and successfully raised $18 million in 2023. Investors include OpenAI backer Coatue Management, Solana backer Slow Ventures, K5, Insight and Benchmark partners, among others. Early contributors to the project include renowned leaders in the Web 2-Web 3 space such as 6 blocks, Hard Yaka, Gcore, and Bitfury.
