[Foreign Investors in U.S. Assets Eager to Hedge Against Dollar Volatility]
According to a report by the Financial Times cited by Jinse Finance, foreign investors in U.S. assets are urgently seeking to hedge their dollar exposure. This indicates growing concerns over the impact of Trump's policy agenda on the world's dominant currency. Analysis by Deutsche Bank shows that since Trump's election victory last November, the volume of U.S. bond and stock investments hedged against currency risks has surpassed unhedged positions for the first time in four years. "Foreign investors may have resumed purchasing U.S. assets, but they are unwilling to take on exchange rate risks at the same time," said Deutsche Bank strategist George Saravelos. He added that these investors are "pulling out of dollar exposure at an unprecedented pace." This behavior helps explain a notable contradiction in the U.S. market since Trump's April "Liberation Day" tariff declaration triggered a sharp sell-off: how Wall Street stocks managed a spectacular rebound without driving a dollar recovery.
