APR myth: Yearly 100% too high, daily chemical 100% too low
MEME can't handle it. Recently, they have started researching on chain wealth management, such as JupLend.
I opened several positions yesterday, and the highest APY could reach 130%+, but I didn't dare, so I ultimately chose around 80%.
A 'midpoint' after weighing risk and return.
Annualized APY is 80%, and daily chemical is approximately 0.2%.
Compared to the previous standards for MEME LP, 100% of daily chemical products are considered low, and the page does not display>999%. It feels like they have failed to select their own pool.
Why is it so 'divided'?
Annualized 100% is too high, daily chemical 100% is too low.
Simply put, yield is a compensation for risk.
The higher the risk, the higher the required rate of return. What if RUG collapses?
Calculating annualized returns for high-risk pool LPs is meaningless because they may collapse and run away in the next hour.
Under the premise of extremely high risk, participating in speculation naturally hopes for higher short-term returns.
But "wealth management" products are different. At least you think your principal is safe and you can hold it for a long time, even imagining the total return in the next year.
From this perspective, an annualized yield of 80% is also a quite astonishing number, and it can be confirmed that the risks involved are not low (such as position liquidation caused by a decline in collateral prices).
In this sense, this cannot be considered a simple "breakeven wealth management" product, but also a high-risk non breakeven leveraged income product.
Of course, we cannot forget the potential 'opportunity cost'. If you hold SOL (or other tokens), will the return exceed 80% after one year.
The real wealth management products in the cryptocurrency industry are roughly equivalent to:
⬛ CEX's stablecoin wealth management (annualized 5% to 10%)
⬛ Staking on the chain (ETH 2.8%, SOL 8%)
Speculation Farming、 Financial management allows you to freely choose based on the size and risk tolerance of your funds, or allocate them proportionally.
