Opinion Lab has launched a permissionless prediction market. Simply put, users can create their own prediction markets. This direction seems pretty spot on—prediction markets are Pump fun. The assets users want to trade shouldn’t always be decided by the platform. Some permissionless prediction market platforms could be more interesting than Polymarket. They can be more niche and tailored, making it easier for crypto folks like me to understand. That said, this direction comes with quite a few challenges: > Rules: How can we ensure that the rules of user-created markets are clear and unambiguous to avoid settlement disputes in the future? > Oracles: For the wide variety of user-created markets, how can the platform provide a reliable, decentralized, and cost-effective oracle to determine outcomes? > Manipulation: When the market depth is large enough, how can we prevent whales from manipulating on-chain or off-chain events to influence the oracle’s final decision? > UI: Prediction markets aren’t like Memes that can just copy-paste and search. When there are too many prediction events, how can users find the one they’re looking for? Compared to these, I think the "liquidity" issue isn’t that big of a deal. Just like Memes, if the topic is attractive enough, people will naturally come to trade. Among these, rules, oracles, and UI are issues for prediction market project teams to consider. As for manipulation, is it just assumed that investors accept the risk?
