I spoke with Romania’s President @NicusorDanRO. We coordinated our next joint steps in diplomacy and are preparing for important contacts already tomorrow. I thanked Nicușor Dan and all EU leaders for today’s statement of clear support for Ukraine’s independence, territorial integrity, and sovereignty. We all agree: the first step toward a just peace must be a ceasefire. Right now, all is defined by President Trump’s determination and Europe’s unity. If Russia is not ready to stop the killings, then there must be sanctions on its economy that will force it to do so. I also thanked Romania for supporting our synchronized and joint path with Moldova toward EU membership. We look forward to welcoming the President to Ukraine.
