Can BTC yields of Bitcoin Treasury companies be sustained?
@BitcoinPowerLaw suggested that BTC yield of Bitcoin Treasury companies may follow a power law. We can use their formula to project BTC yield of Bitcoin Treasury companies and calculated annual yields.
In the chart below, I calculated the 1-year yield based on the number of days/years into the BTC Treasury strategy.
For example, if you invested after one year, the power law suggests a 214% BTC yield over the next year.
Naturally, daily yields are starting high and falling off relatively fast. But even small daily yields add up over time. For instance, a 0.0502% daily yield still adds up to an annualized yield of 20%.
Even in later years, the power law projects double-digit BTC yields.
For reference @Saylor launched his Bitcoin Strategy almost 5 years ago in August 2020, launching a more aggressive BTC accumulation strategy last year achieving a yield of 74% in 2024 and a yield of 20% year-to-date (37% annualized projection for 2025).
While scale and increased competition may reduce later-year yields, treasury companies achieving even a fraction of projected yields when combined with price appreciation will still vastly outperform traditional investments.
TradFi is hungry for yield and Bitcoin Treasury companies are providing that yield via various financial products, be it by equity exposure, fixed income products etc.
Treasury companies with a long-term strategy and appropriate risk management in place should be able to generate highly attractive BTC yields for TradFi over the long-term, particularly during bull markets whereas raising capabilities generating BTC yield may be constrained in bear markets.
