With respect @markpinc this is not a rational centrist view. A counter proposal: 1. Fast track deport all criminal illegals. 2. End birthright citizenship for illegals. 3. Mass deport ALL 2021-2025 illegals. 4. Offer guest worker status for those who remain, with strict welfare requirements. Pair with asylum reform. 5. English as a national language. Strip ESL funding and ESL support to force assimilation or deter new entrants. 6. Redo the census to correct the apportionment issue. This is the starting point for a bipartisan bill, otherwise, deport all 20 million+ and don’t let Democrats hide behind their human shields.
