Half a year ago, it predicted the rupture between Musk and Trump!
But in fact, it's not a prophecy, it's inevitable.
Power is always only responsible for its source.
Musk's power comes from the super business empire he personally built. He doesn't rely on votes, he doesn't need to please any political party, but he needs the favor of the capital market, the continuous rise of stock prices, and Washington's policy tilt towards the tech complex.
And Trump's power stems from another extreme: populism, Rust Belt voters, and mindless supporters of the MAGA camp. He relies on emotional manipulation and repeated PUA style pancake making, not technology/capital logic.
The two forces briefly joined forces, essentially because they had a common enemy (the establishment and the Democratic elite). Objectively speaking, it was interests that brought them together, it was just a tactical collaboration, and it was only a matter of time before they parted ways.
Once Trump regains his presidency, the situation undergoes structural changes. For Trump, he no longer needs to please Silicon Valley, but must consolidate his fundamentals. Under this logic of power redistribution, an uncontrollable and influential ally has become a variable that must be excluded. Musk's support is optional for him, and may even backfire.
So this is not a personal grudge between Musk and Trump, but rather the fact that tech elites and MAGA are fundamentally not on the same side. Once the common enemy is eliminated, the honeymoon period will quickly come to an end.
This time, Musk shouted the slogan "Vance is the best, Trump is the best", which almost officially announced that MAGA and Silicon Valley Technology Capital Group had officially broken off. More precisely, it is technology capital that has begun to actively choose new political spokespersons.
In the eyes of capital, a controllable, negotiable, and compromising president is the "optimal solution"; A president who repeatedly backstabbs and only cares about personal gain is almost a risk factor.
This once again shows that Washington's unwritten rules have never changed, and the most dangerous thing is not the enemy, but the ally you once helped up.
