According to official sources, cryptocurrency exchange Kraken announced that its institutional custody service has passed SOC 2 Type 2 audit, which verifies the continued effectiveness of its security controls over a 6-12 month audit period. This audit was conducted by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) based on the five trust service principles of security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy. Chief Security Officer Nick Percoco stated that this certification strengthens institutional clients' trust in the integrity of platform operations, but emphasizes that security is an ongoing process.
