Michael Saylor: BlackRock's Bitcoin ETF will become the world's largest ETF within ten years
Michael Saylor, Chairman of Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy), stated at an investor day event that "within ten years, IBIT will become the world's largest ETF. ”
According to CoinDesk, over the past five trading days, the net inflow of funds into US spot Bitcoin ETFs has reached approximately $2.8 billion, driving Bitcoin prices from around $85000 to $94000. Among them, BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) alone contributed $1.3 billion in capital inflows.
It should be clarified that the current market value of IBIT is $54 billion, and the daily trading volume exceeded $1.5 billion on Thursday. By comparison, the Vanguard S&P 500 Index ETF (VOO), the world's largest ETF by market capitalization, has a market value of $593.5 billion, more than ten times that of IBIT. Bloomberg's senior ETF analyst pointed out that "theoretically, this possibility exists, especially when the inflow of funds into IBIT exceeds that of VOO. But it is necessary to attract more than $1 billion in funding every day - more likely to reach a scale of $3 billion to $4 billion per day - in order to catch up. In short, the achievement of this goal depends on multiple extreme conditions, but it is not entirely impossible
