Ezhou court successfully concluded 2 cases of virtual currency network fraud, with 30000 people defrauded of 460 million yuan

According to the official account of the Ezhou Intermediate People's Court, recently, the Ezhou Court successfully concluded two online fraud cases involving virtual currency. The fraud gang composed of 34 defendants carefully planned and implemented fraud with the help of the new virtual currency trading platform. Nearly 30000 people were cheated in just one year, involving 460 million yuan. It is reported that a fraud gang has set up the "OURBIT Digital Currency Trading Platform" (Obit Platform), claiming gimmicks such as "Singapore registration" and fabricating trading K-line charts based on Bitcoin market trading prices, creating 9 virtual currency trading illusions. After trial, the court determined that the amount involved in the case was particularly large, and the defendants' actions constituted the crime of fraud. 34 defendants were sentenced to imprisonment ranging from three to twelve years and fined in accordance with the law. Given the large number of people involved and the complexity of the case, the court has tried the cases separately, and the judgments have all come into effect.
