I once read that Warren Buffett had a "too hard" box on his desk that he would put any investment idea that was too difficult to pursue. He wanted to focus on the simple ideas that had the most obvious risk-reward. I thought this was such a good idea that I recently had a similar box made that now sits on my desk. It says "Too Small / Too Hard" as a reminder to only swing at the big opportunities with an obvious risk-reward in your favor. These ideas don't come around often, but you have to bet big when they do.
