This is the risk for Bitcoin when supply is concentrated in U.S. custodians. The same thing that happened to gold in 1933/34- govt decided it was of strategic urgency to commandeer ownership. They outlawed possession and paid everyone a fixed price. This could absolutely happen in a world where BTC became a vector for interfering with adversarial capital flows. Not nearly enough creative thinking being applied to this problem. Are their hurdles to this happening? Yes. Would it have to be an extreme situation? Yes. But we're barreling head first toward "strategic importance" so it's IMPERATIVE that you start thinking about govt involvement in an adversarial way.
