According to Golden Finance, Russian President Putin expressed support for the proposal of a 30 day ceasefire with Ukraine, but there are many issues that need to be discussed and resolved. At a joint press conference after meeting with Belarusian President Lukashenko, Putin said that Russia agrees to the proposal to end hostilities with Ukraine, provided that a ceasefire can bring long-term peace and eliminate the root causes of the Ukrainian crisis. Putin also said that with Russia controlling the situation in Kursk Oblast, the 30 day temporary ceasefire proposal put forward by the United States is beneficial to Ukraine, and he is concerned about how to supervise the ceasefire. He may have a phone call with US President Trump. During his meeting with NATO Secretary General Rutte at the White House, Trump described Putin's very hopeful statement as incomplete. He expressed his willingness to meet or talk to Putin and emphasized the need to reach a ceasefire agreement as soon as possible. Ukrainian President Zelensky believes that Putin is prepared to reject the ceasefire proposal, but dare not directly tell Trump that Russia is setting conditions for the ceasefire and trying to delay or make it impossible to achieve.
