Yesterday's CPI and core CPI data were both good, and the market feedback was still good. Today's PPI data is not as highly concerned as CPI, but the PPI+CPI data can be used to calculate the core PCE data, which is the data that the Federal Reserve is most concerned about. Powell's commonly mentioned 2% refers to the core PCE to 2%.
The current market expectations are good, mostly lower than expected. If the market expectations can be achieved or lower than expected, it means that the core PCE data is likely to be lower than the previous value, which is a good thing for the market.
However, good estimates are limited. Without the current data, it does not include the newly adjusted+25% tariff. It can only be said that without tariffs, US inflation can be seen to be decreasing. However, if the issue of tariffs is taken into account, the current data is not very informative.
