Vitalik： The Ethereum Foundation pursues' governing by doing nothing ', but it is by no means doing nothing

BlockBeats News: On February 19th, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik responded to the question "Why did you decide to take the helm of the ETH Foundation again?" during a text AMA held on the Tako platform I think the blockchain community and the whole world are in a relatively dangerous state now. There are many things happening that have no long-term value or even malice, and these things and the people behind them are under attack. But we cannot just shout opposition to these things. Our goal should be to give investors a good choice and demonstrate that a stable and brighter future is possible. I would like to mention both the blockchain community (if a 97% drop in Meme coins within a day is not our future, then what is it?) and a macro social perspective: many people now believe that democratic means are impossible and can only be achieved through strong leadership. But a political scientist at Devcon told me that one of the reasons he highly respects Ethereum is that we are a truly open decentralized ecosystem, and our success at this scale gives him hope. So if we can succeed in this way, the positive impact on the world could be significant, providing many people with examples they can emulate. However, 'decentralization' does not mean 'doing nothing'. The 'subtraction philosophy' of the Ethereum Foundation does not mean 'reducing the foundation to zero', but rather a way to maintain ecological balance. If there is an ecological imbalance in a place (such as a part of the ecology being too centralized), we can help solve it. After solving this problem, the foundation can withdraw from that field. If there is an imbalance in a new place, we move resources there. In Chinese culture, the way we pursue may be most similar to the ideas of the Tao Te Ching, but taking this path requires intelligence and the ability of foundations to improve in some areas. It is not a matter of 'success without doing anything'. So in the short term, we need to make efforts to do some key things.
