Odaily Planet Daily News: Three sources revealed that the establishment of Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) relies on a recruitment campaign, some of which are carried out by young software engineers through online chat groups and Discord servers. Some of these engineers are related to data analysis company Palantir or its co-founder and chairman of the board (who is also an ally of Musk) Peter Thiel. At the end of last year, at least three individuals related to Palantir or Thiel participated in DOGE's online recruitment efforts. In online chat groups with Palantir alumni and SpaceX interns (Musk's space company), as well as Discord servers related to military artificial intelligence programs, engineers say they are looking for people willing to spend six months in Washington D.C. cutting federal spending (about a quarter of the US gross domestic product) by one-third. One of the three engineers involved in the recruitment process, Anthony Jancso, is a former Palantir employee. According to sources, Jancso said he was recruited to DOGE by Steve Davis, President of the Boring Company and Musk's deputy. Bloomberg reported in December last year that Davis was leading DOGE's recruitment efforts. (Wired)
