Odaily Planet Daily News: Coinbase director Conor Grogan speculates that due to a 2016 acquisition, Kraken and its founder Jesse Powell may be able to uncover the true identity of Satoshi Nakamoto.
This week, blockchain data provider Arkham indexed approximately 22000 wallets believed to be controlled by Satoshi Nakamoto. Although Grogan questions the use of the Patoshi model (which some believe is a specific mining program used by Satoshi Nakamoto), he acknowledges the value of Arkham's research and states that the report provides new evidence for early Bitcoin activity.
One of the wallets highlighted by Arkham is also one of the few public addresses confirmed by Grogan where Satoshi Nakamoto spent BTC.
These wallets are linked to withdrawal addresses registered on the Canadian cryptocurrency exchange CaVirtEx. Grogan said, "I believe this is the first recorded on chain link between a Satoshi related wallet and CEX
Kraken acquired CaVirtEx in 2016, possibly retaining the exchange's customer data. This suggests that Kraken and Powell may have access to Satoshi Nakamoto's true identity, "I suggest he delete the data," Grogan added.
