According to Bloomberg, multiple labor unions in the United States have submitted emergency applications to the court, requesting to prevent the Treasury Department from providing personal and financial data of American citizens to Musk's "government efficiency agency" DOGE, and requesting the Treasury Department and its head Scott Bessent to retrieve and protect information that has been obtained by DOGE. The lawsuit accuses the Ministry of Finance of illegally sharing member data with DOGE and requests the court to issue a temporary injunction before the final ruling. Previously, there were reports that the Ministry of Finance had provided the DOGE team with access to the federal payment system, which includes sensitive taxpayer, employee, and company information, following the resignation of a senior official. The Ministry of Finance responded that the DOGE team only obtained "read-only access" permission and did not affect the normal operation of the government payment system. But the union believes that if no measures are taken, the privacy rights of its members will continue to be violated and cannot be recovered.
