bitcartel is a core contributor and main maintainer of the Scash project. Scash is an experimental cryptocurrency project launched in February 2024, which integrates Monero's RandomX Proof-of-Work (PoW) algorithm, enabling ordinary home computers to engage in ASIC-resistant mining. This design aims to restore Satoshi Nakamoto's original vision of decentralized, accessible mining, addressing the centralization issue caused by specialized hardware dominating Bitcoin's SHA-256 PoW. A few weeks after the creation of the Scash project, bitcartel handed over project operational authority to community governance, implementing concepts of community autonomy and decentralized operation.
