The United States establishes the "Iron Gate" task force, further restricting Iran's land and Caspian Sea transportation

The United States Central Command announced the establishment of the "Iron Gate" task force, which consists of about 20 personnel stationed in Tampa, Florida, primarily responsible for coordinating with other U.S. government departments to prevent advanced weapons, dual-use technologies, sanctioned materials, and illegal revenues from flowing through Iran's land borders and the Caspian Sea.

Previously, the U.S. had already blocked southern Iranian ports, restricting vessel movements in and out. According to estimates from the U.S. military, this maritime blockade has already prevented over $25 billion in Iranian crude oil exports.

The establishment of this task force aims to further limit these channels, making it more difficult for Iran to obtain weapons, production equipment, and revenue, thereby complicating its ability to rebuild military capabilities damaged by war.

For Iran, oil revenues are under significant pressure, and if the remaining trade and financial channels are also restricted, the cost of imported goods might rise even higher, and fiscal and foreign exchange pressures would continue to increase.

As for oil prices, although I am currently shorting, I don't think it can be done without thought. While the Democrats have plans to resolve the war between the U.S. and Iran, that won't happen until next year at the earliest; currently, Trump can still decide the course of the war, such as right now squeezing Iran's space for survival.

From a third-party perspective, it cannot be said that Trump's actions are meaningless; there are indeed significant contradictions within Iran, with rising inflation, increasing prices, and currency devaluation. Trump hopes to force Iran to capitulate quickly, and this isolation also strengthens "external forces" in aiding Iran.

Next, I actually think Iran will strengthen its countermeasures, but from a military standpoint, Iran has limited options. This differs from the influence over tankers in the Strait of Hormuz; I believe Iran has little chance of success in localized frontal combat, and there is a fear that Iran might act unethically in warfare, such as the rumors last month of Iran possibly using chemical weapons.

Today, my oil returns have dropped from over 35% to less than 1%.
