Yesterday, when I saw the Democratic Party gain control of both houses, my first instinct was to increase my short position on oil. Unfortunately, the previous funding rate was too high. Although I am currently showing a profit on paper, when you factor in the funding rate, I am still at a loss. However, I managed to hold on.
Currently, oil prices have not dropped further; it's just that the Democrats are in power now. The progress in the coming days may accelerate somewhat, but we still need to see Iran's stance. Moreover, Trump is still the president, and it's not easy for the Democrats to bypass him.
Moving forward, my stance on oil remains to short on rebounds, but I will increase my position a bit more slowly. I will only further increase my short position in the event of a similar significant drop or if there are favorable developments in negotiations.
Also, this time, I plan to exit as soon as the funding rate comes down and there is profit.
A @Gate, trade more markets
