There's more to the Near Protocol rally than just another speculative altcoin pump; it's one of its biggest in months.
Near Protocol has changed
What NEAR's product actually does has changed significantly. At first, NEAR based its identity on being a Layer-1 blockchain. Although the infrastructure is still in place, the current product strategy is much more expansive: near.com increasingly serves as an on-chain trading interface that aggregates execution and liquidity across various networks.

Without having to manually manage bridges or gas on each network, users can trade across over 35 chains and 150 assets from a single account. NEAR Intents is the engine driving much of this. Users specify the desired result, while competing "solvers" find execution routes, rather than having to decide how a transaction should proceed. Practically speaking, instead of forcing everything through NEAR's own native market, NEAR can route cross-chain swaps toward available pricing and liquidity.

This model has started to generate significant activity. Currently, NEAR Intents' explorer displays a cumulative volume of over $29 billion, roughly $3.48 billion over a 30-day period, and over $232 million over the most recent 24-hour period.
Catalyst is clear
There is also a more immediate catalyst behind the latest rally. NEAR recently expanded its trading offering with confidential perpetuals powered by Hyperliquid, while its $3.33 incentive campaign has added another layer of attention around the ecosystem.

The move is technically very aggressive. After breaking through the prior $2.80–$3.00 resistance area, the daily chart shows NEAR at around $3.44. Alongside the breakout, volume increased dramatically, and the price is currently well above all significant moving averages. Additionally, the RSI has advanced into the upper end of its range.
In addition to confirming strong momentum, that combination indicates that NEAR is becoming overbought. At $3.57, the long upper wick already exhibits some profit-taking.
The underlying product story is what sets this rally apart. NEAR is no longer portrayed as merely another L1 vying for blockspace. It is presenting itself more and more as an abstraction and execution layer, where users can use a single interface to access assets, liquidity, and trading products across several chains. The market seems to be repricing that shift quickly.
