Tonkeeper has rebranded to Keeper and added support for six blockchains beyond The Open Network, turning one of the TON ecosystem’s largest self-custodial wallets into a multichain product.

In an announcement on Tuesday, the team behind Keeper said the wallet now supports TON, Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tron, BNB Smart Chain, Arbitrum, and Base.

“Tonkeeper earned its place as the home of TON, trusted by millions of people around the world,” Andrew Rogozov, founder and CEO of the Open Platform, said in a statement. “Keeper is the next chapter: taking the simplicity we’re known for beyond TON and into the broader crypto economy.”

Self-custodial wallets leave control of crypto assets with their users instead of an exchange or another intermediary.

According to Keeper Nikita Monastyrskiy, CMO of Keeper, the rebrand reflects how its users’ crypto activity has expanded beyond TON.

“The signal came from our own users. The people who trusted Tonkeeper stopped living on a single chain,” Monastyrskiy told Decrypt. “They hold USDT on Tron, Bitcoin, ETH, and assets on the L2s, and they were managing all of it across four or five apps while keeping their most important one for TON.”

Monastyrskiy added that the Tonkeeper name no longer reflected its users’ multichain needs, prompting the rebrand to Keeper.

According to Keeper, its Battery feature lets users pay transaction fees without holding each network’s native token. The company plans to expand it to every supported network within a year but did not say which networks support it at launch.

“Adding new chains was just the first step,” Keeper said. “Over the coming year, Keeper will focus on turning its multichain capabilities into something users rely on every day, not just a place to store assets, but a wallet they actively use.”

The move follows a similar rebrand by MyTonWallet, which became My Wallet in June after expanding from TON to 11 networks. TON-based decentralized exchange STON.fi also launched cross-chain swaps in July, connecting TON with Tron and several Ethereum-compatible networks.

Keeper’s expansion comes as Telegram strengthens its ties to TON. Telegram made TON the exclusive blockchain for crypto-enabled mini apps in January 2025 and took a larger role in directing the network the following year. The Open Platform, which backs Keeper and develops other TON products, raised $28.5 million at a $1 billion valuation in 2025.

Keeper plans to add cross-chain swaps, DeFi products, spending tools, a decentralized-app browser, a loyalty program, and perpetual-futures trading, though it did not provide launch dates.

The Open Platform also develops the self-custodial TON Wallet available inside Telegram. The broader ecosystem has also expanded its financial offerings. A TON-based service introduced lower-barrier staking through Telegram in June 2025, while Libre and the TON Foundation launched a $500 million tokenized Telegram bond fund that April.

Monastyrskiy said its multichain expansion would give existing users a single app for their assets while introducing the wallet’s TON features to a broader audience.

“We are expanding beyond TON ecosystem while staying closely connected to it,” he said. “This way users finally get one app for everything. Everyone else gets to find out why we are the number one self-custodial wallet on TON.”
