Recently, the most interesting project I've seen is none other than FLYBRAIN.

Let's talk about the latest progress of this project.

Previously, we were just watching a fruit fly using a program to create tokens, and now the developers have started training it to simulate trading cryptocurrencies. They even set up a diary account for it and invited the community to develop new gameplay together.

The goal is also very straightforward: to raise a millionaire fruit fly.

While humans are still searching for the secret to wealth, the fruit fly has already been assigned a job.

What’s even more outrageous is that while humans rely on news to trade cryptocurrencies, it selects tokens based on "smell."

What's the specific situation?

@fruitflydev built a simulation model using publicly available fruit fly neural connection data, and now they have created a dedicated trading page for it.

Real Pons tokens are illustrated as cards for it to see; the token names are mapped to simulated smells based on human-set rules, allowing it to "smell."

The model exhibits approach or avoidance behavior, and the program converts these reactions into buying or selling intentions.

When it simulates making money, it receives reward signals; when it simulates losing money, it receives punishment signals, attempting to get it to change its reaction next time.

Don’t rush to take it as a mentor; it's still just a simulation.

It doesn't understand candlesticks, nor does it study market makers. What they are currently testing is whether this model can generate effective feedback from trading results.

The developers envision that once training is complete, they will give it the creator's fees to try real money trading.

Note that this is a plan and not something that has already been implemented.

The claims online that "the fruit fly earned hundreds of thousands of dollars" refer to the creator's fees generated from associated tokens, not that it defeated humans through trading.

Collecting tolls and being a trader are two different jobs.

Besides learning to trade cryptocurrencies, it now has its own diary account @imflybrain.

The language model organizes its observations based on operational data.

It is responsible for movement, and AI handles the narration.

This isn’t the fruit fly suddenly passing English exams.

The latest code also includes a twin fruit fly experiment: placing two models in the same simulated space and observing how they react to visual, olfactory, and auditory stimuli.

This isn't two fruit flies starting to discuss the market; it’s continuing to test what this neural model can do.

The developers have publicly corrected the code errors related to reward signals and have also disclosed failed tests.

So what we see now is an experiment that is being revised while being conducted, not a machine that has already been successfully trained to make money.

What’s more noteworthy is that the developers have announced a $10,000 prize to encourage the community to replicate the code and train their own fruit flies, with two selected projects sharing the prize.

From one person raising a fruit fly to a group of people researching how to raise them.

I think this is the most interesting change recently.

"The fruit fly issued a token" is just a piece of news that once read, is forgotten.

"What did this fruit fly do today?" has the opportunity to draw people back tomorrow.

Will it learn to trade?

What new jobs will the community create for it?

What unexpected results will the next experiment bring?

It is beginning to have a story that can be continuously followed, rather than just a one-off novelty about token issuance.

Of course, having a prize doesn't equal having an ecosystem; it still depends on the actual projects and continuous updates.

If more and more people participate and create truly interesting experiments, FLYBRAIN has the chance to grow from a quirky project into an IP shaped by everyone.

The millionaire fruit fly hasn’t been raised yet.

But getting a group of people to start caring about what a digital fruit fly will do tomorrow is already quite interesting.
