I’m very obedient; a friend who left a message suggested going to eat at “Chicken Family Village,” so I went. It was only two MRT stations from the conference hall to Zhongshan Station. The navigation said it was only 800 meters from Zhongshan Station to Chicken Family Village, but the rain was really pouring, so I had to take a taxi. It felt like it was better just to take a taxi directly from the conference hall. However, experiencing Taipei's MRT was still nice.

Taipei's MRT is very similar to Japan’s; the carriages are very quiet, so quiet that when I got a phone call, I was hesitant to speak. It seemed like I was the only one talking on the phone; I felt everyone was staring at me. Thankfully, I arrived quickly and hurried off the train. By the way, I asked a friend in Taipei what to do if you get a call while on the MRT.

The façade of Chicken 🐔 Family Village looked very nostalgic, feeling not really like the Taipei style, more like a Hong Kong style. Once I entered the lobby, it really felt like I had traveled back in time to Hong Kong; it resembled Hong Kong's style very much.

The highlight of the order was the three-flavor chicken, priced at 600/800. I asked, and a quarter chicken was only 600 New Taiwan Dollars, while half a chicken was 800 New Taiwan Dollars; it was definitely accounting for half a chicken. The lady also told me that a person can’t eat it all, hmph, she hasn't seen a foodie before. I only eat one meal a day, and I eat a lot in that meal.

I also ordered chicken rolls, mushroom chicken soup, and chicken gravy rice. I really shouldn’t have eaten rice, but I saw that many people specifically went for the rice according to ChatGPT's introduction. I thought I could handle it; after the meal, they even gave a chicken egg pudding 🍮, which was very tasty.

As for the taste, the three-flavor chicken was indeed good: black chicken, roasted chicken, and grilled chicken (I think). Especially the roasted chicken; I hadn’t had it in many years, and I finished the half chicken myself. The ginger sauce was especially delicious.

To be honest, I’m not very fond of chicken rolls; I couldn't taste the chicken flavor, but they weren't bad. They might just not suit me. However, the mushroom chicken soup was incredibly good; I felt the chicken was unnecessary—just the soup would be the best. I ordered a bottle of beer, too, and the beer tasted pretty good.

I also ate all the rice; it was okay. By the end, I felt a bit full, but since I had lunch, I won’t have dinner, so it was about right. The total was 1,430 New Taiwan Dollars (about 45 USD, 57 Singapore Dollars, 300 RMB). I took over an hour to finish it by myself; this amount of food is actually suitable for two people; for two, the price is reasonable.

Overall, it was still good; I felt very satisfied. Next, I’m preparing to eat beef noodles. I heard there’s a beef noodle shop in Taipei that costs 10,000 New Taiwan Dollars and another that costs 5,000 New Taiwan Dollars. Is it really that expensive? It’s a bit hard to justify spending that much—should I try “Lin Dongfang” instead??
