Since his second term began, Trump has been meddling with tariffs, and it seems he hasn't achieved much yet. The major drop over the past 25 years was triggered by tariffs, and then in the 26th year, it was declared invalid. Afterwards, he started targeting Venezuela and Iran. Even when Iran has been in a stalemate for over half a year, he still went to provoke Canada. I have little hope for the Republican midterm elections, especially with high oil prices involved.
The most important data next week is the non-farm payrolls, but currently, the non-farm data does not have a significant impact on U.S. monetary policy. Even if the unemployment rate rises and employment continues to decline, it is not as terrifying as inflation increases. The main reasons for inflation are all related to Trump, and of course, I don't believe that the Federal Reserve will raise interest rates in September; from my personal perspective, the likelihood is too low.
In the past couple of days, it has been stated that even though the U.S. and Iran have not yet concluded, the situation in the Strait of Hormuz is no longer just an American issue. Either acknowledge Iran's jurisdiction over Hormuz and pay to pass through, or continue to resist together with the U.S. The latter was attacked again today, making passage significantly more difficult, yet oil prices are still floating down, precisely because more and more are choosing the former.
This weekend, Bitcoin remained the most stable. Although last week it pulled back because Waller was considered hawkish during his speech in Jackson Hole, it rose all weekend and is almost back to $80,000, indicating that investors still have strong interest in bitcoin:native. The dual currency next week should be cautiously considered.
