Kuala Lumpur, July 16 — Global attention is shifting towards Southeast Asia. Here, the adoption, experimentation, and real-world applications of Web3 are accelerating. At the core of this momentum, Malaysia has proven itself to be an important intersection for builders, investors, and institutions seeking development opportunities in the Web3 space.
Malaysia Blockchain Week 2026 (MYBW2026) will return to the Kuala Lumpur World Trade Center (WTCKL) from July 29 to 30, 2026. At that time, industry leaders, innovators, enterprises, developers, investors, creators, and new friends interested in Web3 will gather to participate in one of Southeast Asia's most anticipated Web3 events.
Following the inaugural event, MYBW will continue in 2026 under the theme “Bridging Realities: Where Everyone Meets Web3.” This year's theme focuses on the convergence occurring within the industry: global protocols meeting local adoption challenges, institutional capital partnering with grassroots builders, and the intersection of AI infrastructure and blockchain in real-world industry applications.
“What we are seeing now is that Web3 as a whole is being actively shaped by emerging markets like Southeast Asia, where enthusiasm and adoption rates are significantly increasing. MYBW2026 is the place for these voices to be heard and to engage in dialogue around the significance of Web3 adoption for Malaysia and the region within the global landscape,” — said MYBW Managing Partner and Organizer Noelle Lee.
MYBW is committed to creating an open and inclusive platform that connects the current digital realities with the future of blockchain, AI, decentralized technologies, and Web3 innovations. It has established its leadership position as one of the important Web3 events in Southeast Asia.
How Malaysia Stands Out
This year, MYBW2026 aims to further consolidate Malaysia's increasingly prominent role in the global blockchain ecosystem, welcoming thousands of participants from the region and around the world to discuss what the shared Web3 ecosystem should look like both in Malaysia and internationally.
Malaysia's core advantages include a relatively clear regulatory environment, regional connectivity, and a rapidly evolving digital economy. As the global Web3 ecosystem matures, market attention is turning to areas that can translate experimentation into actual adoption, with Southeast Asia increasingly viewed as one such region. Particularly, Kuala Lumpur is becoming an important gathering point for regional builders and industry participants to seek pragmatic opportunities, offering substantial development space beyond speculative narratives.
A Regional Hub for Promoting Web3 Dialogue
In this two-day, content-rich event, attendees can look forward to in-depth keynote speeches from globally renowned industry leaders, as well as engaging discussions on how Web3 technologies are integrated into Malaysian social life.
The event will also provide valuable opportunities to connect with founders, investors, developers, enterprises, and ecosystem builders in the global Web3 ecosystem, while focusing on the local context in Malaysia. Public educational courses aimed at making Web3 more understandable and accessible will further highlight MYBW's commitment to lowering adoption barriers and fostering meaningful dialogues to bridge the Web3 gap.
Special Guests
Bridging the gap between Web3 and Web2 requires industry leaders with a deep understanding of the critical developmental environment in which Malaysia operates.
Therefore, MYBW is honored to announce some of its special guests, including: Steven McWhirter, Global Policy Head at Binance; Justin Sun, Founder of TRON; Nischint Sanghavi, Head of Digital Currency for Visa Asia Pacific; Moses Lee, Head of Asia Pacific at Anchorage Digital; Matthew Tan, CEO of Etherscan; and Bobby Ong, Co-Founder and CEO of CoinGecko, along with over 150 other speakers.
“The landscape has changed, and Malaysia is ready. As new digital policies are eagerly anticipated, Malaysia welcomes Web3 companies from around the globe to operate here. The first two years of MYBW have been a prelude to this trend, and the third MYBW2026 is the future. The future has already arrived,” — said MYBW Co-Founder Dr. Ian Tan.
More heavyweight speakers, ecosystem partners, and event agendas will be announced leading up to the event.
Notable sponsors like Luno, Base, HATA, Gambit Custody, Cryptobilis, Anchorage Digital, BitGo, TRM Labs, Ledger, and Utila will also be featured at MYBW2026, becoming important connection points for community engagement and interaction.
