Specifically got up early to check the oil price on CME, and the result was an opening high of 74.5 USD, which made me think "Is that it?". I’ll check again when the US stock market opens tonight, but fortunately, I closed part of my positions yesterday; otherwise, I would have been on a roller coaster with the 73 USD ones.
This also shows that Asian friends have low expectations for the US and Iran conflict turning into a full-scale war. However, I noticed that the price difference between Brent and WTI has exceeded 4 USD, and if it rises a bit more, I will short Brent.
If the price difference exceeds 5 USD, shorting Brent could have about 2 USD in arbitrage space. Brent can be targeted around the 80 USD or 83 USD level. The reaction from Hormuz to Brent will be slightly larger.
