Speaking of this matter, it reminds me of another thing.

This matter makes me think of something else.

During Trump's first term, the control over illegal immigration was quite strict. At that time, even though the routes were not strong, there were still quite a few people who directly stayed illegally in the U.S. by various means. The simplest way back then was to obtain a Mexican visa. If I remember correctly, the Mexican visa was always easy to get. I don't know why later the routes stopped flying directly to Mexico.

At that time, many people who arrived in Mexico crossed the river and directly looked for the police, claiming they had amnesia, that they couldn't find their documents, and that they didn't know who they were. They would then be detained and released after about a month.

Many friends would ask, if they spoke Chinese, wouldn't it be known that they were Chinese? They could just be sent back, but in reality, at that time, there was no immigration repatriation with China. Even if it was known that they were Chinese, without documents, they could not be repatriated nor could they be forced to leave.

I still remember seeing pictures of many torn passport remnants scattered by the river in Mexico.
