Celebrity meme coins have been played into venture capitalization.

Yesterday, we introduced the hottest new meme coin on Solana, $ANSEM, "600 times in 24 hours, how long can this Solana meme hold on?"

And just this morning, more than 20 times the targets appeared, making the meme market on Solana even hotter. Let's first take a look at the new popular targets, and then analyze the reasons behind this sudden market trend.

The "Celebrity Coin" made an appearance

TJR(@_TJRTrades) is also a well-known KOL, and his daily content mainly focuses on trading analysis, so on-chain meme players may not be very familiar with him. He has only 250,000 followers on X, but has over 1.5 million followers on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.

Since yesterday, TJR has posted multiple tweets publicly stating that he wants to help Ansem create content on TikTok, expanding his influence to platforms outside of X, and bringing in more newcomers who haven't interacted with cryptocurrency before. He also purchased $100,000 worth of $ANSEM and continued to promote it.

Initially, he stated that he would not participate in holding wallets, dev coin creating, or copying $ANSEM's successful path:

But at 6 AM this morning, things changed. He posted "Should I get in?", signaling a change of heart:

A few hours later, he responded to a tweet asking if he would airdrop his $TJR, saying "Of course." This was seen by the market as a signal for claiming, and $TJR began to be FOMO, rising from about $1.6 million in market cap to a peak of $28 million. Just yesterday, $TJR had a market cap of only $400,000 at one point.

Furthermore, the dev deploying $TJR is also the dev of $ANSEM, and this time he transferred 79% of $TJR to TJR's address.

According to GMGN monitoring, this dev has been creating the token since 13 days ago and sold off for a net profit of $5,500, subsequently minting coins in bulk over the past week, frequently copying various "celebrity coins" while actively interacting on X social media to create momentum.

In the past week, this address has created as many as 101 different meme coins (most being various celebrity coins with a certain fan base), including 12 that peaked over a million dollars in market cap and 3 that broke the ten million dollar mark.

As of now, the deployer has made a paper profit of 82,000 SOL over the past seven days, about $6.08 million, with just a few of the high market cap meme coins contributing $193,000 in dividends, and a total of $8.77 million in profit over 30 days.

Aside from pure "celebrity coins" like $TJR being promoted personally by KOLs, there are also some variants that have performed well.

$TESTIBULL, a meme derived from $TESTICLE using testicles as the image, mimics $ANSEM's "The Black Bull." The KOL Dip Wheeler(@DipWheeler), who previously promoted $TESTICLE's strong performance on Fartcoin, publicly stated that he would airdrop $TESTIBULL, which caused the coin to surge from a low of $40,000 yesterday to nearly $5 million today.

$dog was meant to say that Ansem had previously pushed $WIF to a market cap of several billion dollars. Now the market has reverted, and giving the coin to Ansem could create a new dog coin like $WIF.

But this dev made a mistake and sent the coin to a black hole address, which made people think it combined the coin creation gameplay of "celebrity coins" with the dramatic effect seen with $SLERF back in the day, causing the coin to briefly break the $8 million market cap.

Market Analysis

This intra-day market trend came suddenly. Although $ANSEM didn't experience a significant drop today, it also didn't continue the upward momentum from the previous two days.

"Celebrity coins" are not a new gameplay. Players who dislike this type of gameplay even consider TJR's emergence as a signal of market peak, calling it the "MELANIA moment."

While "celebrity coin" trends keep appearing, it can't be simply said that "celebrity coins" are always the same old routine. Market trends appearing at different times and under different circumstances can be analyzed for various reasons. And this time:

- On-chain players have been hungry for too long. The meme market has been sluggish for a long time, and there hasn't been a meme coin with a market cap of over one hundred million dollars on Solana for a while (even though a large portion of $ANSEM is still controlled by Ansem).

- There is severe fear of missing out (FOMO) sentiment, which is highly flammable and explosive. Due to the long-term market slump, most players didn't expect $ANSEM to rise to the over one hundred million dollar market cap, causing many players to sell off or simply miss out. This FOMO sentiment reflected onto $TJR.

- The VC-ification of meme coins. On-chain players who have persisted are indeed making efforts, but it has proven very difficult to have meme coins with a market cap in the millions in an environment where exchanges have nearly shut down new channels for meme coins and market makers are reluctant to prop them up. For players, fairness in meme coins isn't about who has more or less, but rather about "whether I can get a chance at high odds when the market cap is low." In this scenario, even if a large share is controlled by KOLs like Ansem and TJR, people perceive the endorsement of celebrities, or think "they have to find a way to raise it to a certain level to exit."

The VC-ification of meme coins became apparent during Trump’s token launch. As long as there is a narrative and it can make money, no one complains about large token holdings; instead, they feel that the smaller liquidity allows for greater upward potential. Influencers actually play the role that VC coins did in the past, where traffic, recognition, and consensus are what provide liquidity.

As of the current observations, this "celebrity coin" trend has attracted many previously active level-one "meme coin" players to return. With the success of $ANSEM and $TJR, they have already begun to scout potential claimants corresponding to targets that might come forward, such as bonkguy, him, and other crypto KOLs. However, whether this trend can continue depends on whether $ANSEM can create new highs; otherwise, the enthusiasm may dissipate quickly.
