The United States and Iran actually completed the signing of the "Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding" while I was sleeping.

The United States and Iran surprisingly completed the signing of the "Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding" while I was sleeping, although it was an electronic signature.

As the first step after the signing, Iran will immediately reopen the Strait of Hormuz, and the United States will also immediately lift the blockade on Iranian ports.

The content of the memorandum is nearly identical to what Iran previously announced. I really didn’t expect Trump to agree to these conditions; didn’t he claim to be winning all the time? As a result, not only will there be compensation, but the enriched uranium will also be managed by Iran itself.

1. The U.S., Iran, and their allies will immediately and permanently cease all military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon.

2. Both parties respect each other’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and do not interfere in each other’s internal affairs.

This clause is a political principle clause.

3. Both parties shall reach a final agreement within a maximum of 60 days, and both agree that it can be extended.

4. The U.S. will immediately begin to lift the maritime blockade on Iran, completely lifting it within 30 days.

5. Iran is responsible for restoring commercial passage through the Strait of Hormuz.

PS: Iran promises to make every effort to ensure that commercial ships can travel free and safely back and forth between the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman within 60 days, with commercial passage starting immediately and completing mine clearance and the removal of technical and military obstacles within 30 days.

Afterward, Iran will also discuss the future management mechanism of the Strait of Hormuz with Oman and the countries along the Persian Gulf.

6. The U.S. and regional partners promise at least $300 billion for the reconstruction and economic development of Iran!!

7. The U.S. commits to terminate various sanctions on Iran according to the final agreement timeline.

8. Iran reaffirms that it will not acquire or develop nuclear weapons.

PS2: Both parties agree to handle Iran's stock of enriched materials through subsequent negotiation mechanisms, with the minimum handling method being on-site dilution under IAEA supervision. Issues related to uranium enrichment and Iran's nuclear needs will be included in the final agreement for further discussion.

This means that enriched uranium will not leave Iran at all. Isn’t that one of the main reasons Trump went to war? It feels pointless; not only will they have to pay compensation, but they can’t even deal with the enriched uranium anymore. Previously, it was said that the U.S. managing enriched uranium was a bottom line!!

9. The parties will maintain the status quo before the final agreement.

10. The U.S. Treasury will immediately grant exemptions for Iranian crude oil, petrochemical products, and related services.

11. The U.S. agrees to restore access to frozen or restricted financial assets of Iran.

12. An enforcement mechanism will be established to supervise the execution of the memorandum and the final agreement.

13. Negotiations for the final agreement will have preconditions.

Only after the cessation of hostilities in Clause 1, the lifting of the maritime blockade in Clause 4, the passage through the Strait of Hormuz in Clause 5, the oil export exemption in Clause 10, and the unfreezing of funds in Clause 11 begin and continue to be executed, will both parties initiate negotiations for the final agreement on the remaining clauses.

14. The final agreement must be confirmed through a binding United Nations Security Council resolution.

This is nonsense, but it doesn’t matter much to us, as long as the Strait of Hormuz is open.
