The strategic advisor to the head of Iran's negotiating delegation with the United States, Mehdi Mohammadi, stated that the proposed agreement between Tehran and Washington clearly maintains and recognizes Iran's jurisdiction over the Strait of Hormuz.

The Islamic Republic currently provides services in the Strait of Hormuz, including security, navigation, and safety services, for which it charges fees.

Mohammadi also mentioned a proposed $300 billion development and reconstruction fund. "The text uses the term 'reconstruction,' which means repairing the damage caused by war," he said. "Although the term 'compensation' is not explicitly stated in the text, it is clear that when the other party talks about reconstruction, they are referring to compensating for the damage caused to Iran during the war."

If the reports from Iran are true, Trump has embarrassed himself this time, claiming that the Strait of Hormuz is completely free. Now, not only is there a $300 billion compensation, but the Strait of Hormuz is still in Iran's hands, and Iran is charging fees.
