The U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations stated that Trump is still pushing for the signing of an agreement with Iran today.
U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Mike Waltz stated that despite difficult negotiations, Trump is determined to finalize an agreement with Iran today.
Waltz claimed (without providing evidence) that Iranian negotiating representatives are having difficulty obtaining clear guidance from the Supreme Leader and that there is not always consensus internally.
Nevertheless, he stated that Trump and the U.S. negotiating team still have confidence in their ability to complete an agreement.
Trump called for all parties to cease actions following the Beirut attack, stating that the attack should not have occurred.
"Israel has the right to defend itself against threats, but the attack it responded to was very small, insignificant, and no one was hurt, victimized, or killed; it should not undermine this important process," he wrote on social media.
He stated that an agreement is close to being reached and will bring peace to the region, including peace for Lebanon.
"Israel should not launch attacks anywhere in Lebanon again, but no other party, including Hezbollah, should launch attacks against Israel again."
"Don't mess it up!"
