Is the exchange starting to compete for American stock users? Bitget Stocks 2.0 has pushed the RWA narrative forward once again.

When mentioning exchanges, everyone's first reaction might still be BTC, ETH, contracts, and altcoins.

But now, the users that exchanges want to capture are no longer just "crypto users."

This week Bitget launched Stocks 2.0, integrating tokenized U.S. stocks and ETF products issued by Reality onto the platform. Simply put, this is not about "directly buying U.S. stocks" in the traditional brokerage sense, but rather that users can trade tokenized assets related to U.S. stocks and ETFs within their Bitget accounts.

What’s interesting about this is that it’s not just about adding a few trading pairs; rather, it reinforces the UEX (Universal Exchange) narrative that Bitget has been promoting recently.

In other words, Bitget aims to be more than just a platform for trading crypto assets; it seeks to be a trading entry point that integrates crypto assets, RWA, exposure to U.S. stocks, AI tools, and multi-asset strategies all in one account.

Why is Bitget promoting this now?

On one hand, RWA remains one of the most easily understood narratives for traditional users in this cycle. Compared to many complex new concepts, terms like U.S. stocks, ETFs, dividends, and liquidity are not so unfamiliar to new users. They may not dare to touch highly volatile altcoins right away, but they might be willing to start with more familiar asset exposures.

On the other hand, the market has recently experienced significant volatility. BTC retracement, changes in ETF fund flows, and fluctuating macro expectations have led traders to pay attention not only to "what to buy" but also to "where to trade," "how high are the costs," "how useful are the tools," and "is the platform transparent."

This is also the combination that Bitget intends to showcase:

Stocks 2.0 is responsible for providing new asset entry points,

AI trading tools are responsible for lowering trading thresholds,

Reserve proofs and protection funds are responsible for enhancing platform trustworthiness.

According to official disclosures, Bitget's reserve proof total reserve rate in May was 127%; the protection fund's average valuation in May was approximately $428 million, with a peak exceeding $451 million during the month. The platform previously mentioned that its AI trading ecosystem has covered over 1 million users and generated about $1.2 billion in trading volume.

Therefore, the truly noteworthy aspect of Stocks 2.0 is not just that "Bitget has launched tokenized U.S. stocks."

More accurately, it represents a shift in the competitive landscape among exchanges: in the past, everyone competed based on coin types, contract depth, and activity rewards; now the competition is focused on who can integrate more assets, at lower costs, with more user-friendly tools, and stronger trust endorsements into a single account.

For users, this may also be a new signal:

The next phase of trading platforms may not just be "places to buy coins," but rather more like cross-market capital entry points. Bitget is betting on this direction with its UEX narrative.
