Letting the Agent learn to spend money is proving to be a path: the OKX APP may be running out the first on-chain curve for AI commercialization!
What is OKX's Agent Payments Protocol for? It’s not for people; it’s for AI Agents as an “on-chain cash register + payment protocol + business settlement rules.”
When it was first launched, what kind of performance it would have was still unknown, but after seeing the data dashboard below, it indeed looks impressive!

You see, starting from late May, the payment data related to the APP on X Layer suddenly ignited: total transaction volume exceeded 6 million dollars; total transaction count approached 1.8 million; independent sending addresses exceeded 300,000;
This indicates that the APP has currently begun to generate real payment data on-chain through Skills, APIs, SDKs, and merchant integration.
However, I think the most crucial thing here is not how much volume there currently is, but the slope.
Agent Payment is essentially not about traditional large payments, but rather high-frequency, small-amount, machine-to-machine automatic settlements.
Therefore, the number of transactions, independent addresses, and daily active retention are more worth watching than just TVL or transaction volume.
What really needs to be observed next is: after the activity ends, will the data decline? Will merchant integration continue to increase? Does the Agent truly start to automatically pay for APIs, tools, services, content, and computing power?
If this data can be sustained, the APP will not just be a new protocol created by OKX, but X Layer may really have captured the most fundamental aspect of AI Agent commercialization:
Letting the Agent learn to spend money also allows services to be purchased by the Agent.
