Trump stated that the United States hopes for a free and toll-free Strait of Hormuz.

When asked about Iran's proposal to impose a toll in the Strait of Hormuz, Trump said: “We are looking into this proposal.”

“As you know, we have achieved complete control over the Strait of Hormuz through the blockade. The blockade has been one hundred percent effective. No one can pass through it; it is like a steel wall,” the U.S. president told reporters.

Meanwhile, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Navy reported that 31 vessels passed through the Strait of Hormuz in the past 24 hours.

“We want it to be free; we do not want a toll. It is international; it is an international waterway,” Trump said at a press conference at the White House regarding the strait.
