Speaking of pizza, suddenly a memory from a long time ago hit me.
It was around 2003, and I was in Shanghai. At that time, Pizza Hut was still a 'popular spot' for Shanghai大众披萨, and the prices were a bit high. Back then, we mainly ate pizza, chicken wings, and salad, and the salad was still somewhat "semi-self-service" at Pizza Hut.
There weren't many people usually, because the prices were a bit high; a meal would cost around 150 RMB, while the average salary in Shanghai was only about 1,000 RMB at that time. I was working on 1T1T with Han Feng, who had completely left 17173, and we had received investment from China Automotive Network. My salary was 1,200 RMB at the time.
The company was located on Huaihai West Road, very close to Meiluo City, which had a well-known Pizza Hut. Every year on Valentine's Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, there would be long queues; I mainly went on Valentine's Day and Christmas, and I spent my first Spring Festival in Shanghai at Pizza Hut.
The pizza there felt so delicious at that time, mainly because we had to wait in line for over an hour every time we went, especially in 2004 or 2005 when there was heavy snow in Shanghai. Waiting in line for over an hour in the snow just to eat a pizza seems silly now, but this kind of "silliness" is hardly possible to reproduce now.
Once I moved to Baoshan for startup, I rarely ate at Pizza Hut. I mostly ate at Domino's, mainly because it was convenient for takeout, had more variety, and was cheaper than Pizza Hut. Of course, it was mainly takeout, especially when I was home alone.
Later, I ate less and less. I don't even remember when it started that I only had pizza once a year during the pizza festival, especially since it was given by friends. After arriving in Singapore, I ate even less. I remember that last year's pizza festival had the most, with four or five boxes of pizza, and especially @Trader_S18 even stuffed me with two big boxes. To avoid waste, I took three days to finish them all.
Initially, I felt a bit sentimental and wanted to ask the chipmunk to go out for a pizza, but the chipmunk was unwilling, so I became too lazy to go out to eat myself.
Wishing everyone a happy pizza festival, especially buying some bitcoin:native during the pizza festival would be perfect.
